Job Summary:

The temporary Lab Technician will learn and support a variety of activities within the Fluids Product Line Validation Laboratory over the course of the summer. This role includes assisting with test setup and execution, data collection and reporting, basic equipment troubleshooting, and maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works within established laboratory procedures and practices under close supervision
  • Learns and assists with basic mechanical testing on a variety of product types and components, including programming and operating laboratory test equipment, while following written procedures, methods, and instructions
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed and supports test result documentation and reporting
  • Learns and assists with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Assists with assembling and maintaining laboratory test fixtures
  • Supports 6S initiatives (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Conducts all work in a professional and respectful manner
  • May occasionally be required to perform duties outside those listed, as business needs dictate

Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Ability to work on-site at the Livonia location

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

  • Professional office and manufacturing environment
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and safety shoes, while on the manufacturing floor
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations may be required
  • Equipment operation requires proper training due to potential safety risks
