Cooper Standard Automotive is seeking an experienced Senior Indirect Purchasing Manager to lead indirect procurement activities for the Corporate, Sealing, Industrial Specialty Group, and/or Fuel & Brake and Fluid Transfer divisions. The selected candidate will manage a team of buyers across the European region and collaborate closely with key business stakeholders. The role involves driving cost‑reduction strategies, analyzing market dynamics, and optimizing purchasing processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team in executing global and regional commodity strategies while ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Analyze market dynamics and commodity trends, including raw materials, to ensure cost competitiveness and assess global impacts.
- Increase the use of catalogs for repetitive purchase orders.
- Drive cost savings through the implementation of eAuctions.
- Ensure effective sourcing and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Manage the supply base according to business requirements, cost expectations, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct supplier business reviews to strengthen long-term strategic partnerships and foster continuous improvement.
- Address critical supply chain issues and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Foster a performance-driven team culture, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Utilize key technologies such as SAP, BI Analytics, Coupa, and Microsoft Office.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the supply base and team environment.
- Develop and implement sustainable sourcing practices.
- Build a vision of a competitive supplier base and execute this vision while ensuring suppliers meet required standards in cost, quality, delivery, technology, and customer service.
Education and Qualifications
- Proficiency in both Polish and English is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Strong experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, quality, purchasing, or global supplier development.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams through negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to address complex challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
