GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job)

The Plant Process Engineer is the manufacturing engineering representative for all plant, equipment, and process tasks for Program Teams (PT). The Plant Process Engineer defines and executes manufacturing processes for new products and customer programs, analyses work force utilization, process flow, and designs, buys and installs equipment for maximum efficiency. This person also manages all process tasks and optimization. Works cross functionally with engineering, program management and the Program Team to meet all targets for manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, scrap, containment and efficiency optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance)

· Develops manufacturing methods, equipment, and processes for programs.

· Defines equipment utilization, floor space requirements, process flow, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Meets the customer's capacity requirements and targeted.

· Cycle time / Compliance and review bottlenecks.

· Engineers manufacturing processes collaborative with product engineering to ensure manufacturable product designs which utilize standard production processes, equipment, and methods.

· Writes equipment and process specifications. Purchases, installs, and debugs effective equipment hat meets all financial and quality requirements for new products and programs.

· Ensures equipment and manufacturing processes are ready and available for customer critical events including run at rate, PPAP and critical builds for customer MRDs.

· Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining all manufacturing and process engineering documents required for launches.

· Creates the manufacturing bill of materials, process flow diagrams, process failure mode effective analysis (PFMEA), and tooling authorization to proceed (TATP).

· RPFMEA Priority corrective actions closure and follow up protecting customer.

· Creates all equipment and process preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.

· Applies Lean principles to new product launches including minimizing WIP, ergonomic workstations, visual management and utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement and cost reduction in the execution of the job function.

· Applies statistical methods to solve problems and improve manufacturing processes.

· Complies and shares best practice and lessons learned initiatives.

· Participate in all security analyses.

· All the responsibilities and follow the authority assigned according to the FTM-EHS-12 Roles, Responsibility and Authority Matrix from ISO 14001 /45001

· Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE (Required occupational qualifications and other requirements)

· EDUCATION

o Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering.

· EXPERIENCE

o Minimum one year experience in manufacturing or process engineering in the production environment.

o Automotive experience preferred.

· KNOWLEDGE

o Desire Mandatory trainings by client.

o Troubleshooting Tools

o Core Tools Knowledge

o PFMEA and Reverse PFMEA Knowledge

o Lean Manufacturing Systems Knowledge

o Knowledge in GD&T (Drawing Interpretation)

o AUTOCAD Knowledge

o OMNEX program management

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job)

· Ability to perform time and motion studies.

· Knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques (KanBan, Kaizen).

· Ability to develop and implement manufacturing layout, processes, and changes, equipment specifications and ergonomic evaluations.

· Excellent knowledge and execution of problem solving.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.
