ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages outbound shipments with appropriate carriers, ensuring accurate communication of quantities and handling all required paperwork and staging.
- Responsible for keeping the shipping area clean and organized to facilitate efficient operations.
- Accountable for on-time shipping, customer satisfaction, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Ensure inventory locations and levels are accurate by performing daily cycle counts.
- Analyzes and schedules daily shipments, accessing customer websites for pull signals to optimize logistics.
- Serves as the primary liaison for internal and external customers, providing shipping/receiving information, including advanced ship notices (ASN) and expedite requests.
- Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve general logistics issues, implementing both short and long-term solutions.
- Prepares pick lists, finalizes transfer orders, and processes delivery orders efficiently.
- Monitors and manages backorders / past dues daily to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Receives parts for inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.
- Maintains organized record retention of shipping documents for compliance and reference.
- Proactively communicates logistics issues and changes to appropriate team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Periodically reviews logistics regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, working with the team to implement and communicate necessary changes.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental and safety policies/procedures as established by management, actively participating in training and audits.
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains standard work procedures for all shipping practices to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Actively participates in lean and continuous improvement projects, including the implementation of 6S methodologies.
- Completes and assists with special projects as directed by management, contributing to overall operational goals.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to monitor schedules and orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy in all logistics processes.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize projects on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in logistics and customer needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and possess general computer skills necessary for the role.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping/receiving; customer service is a plus.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Prior experience with UPS, FedEx, or other shipping software is preferred.
- Tow-motor license required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Requirements:
- The individual is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, and crouch to perform job duties.
- Lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required.
Visual Requirements:
- Close visual work is required, with the ability to read information in various formats.

- Minimal travel is required
